I usually get hyper-fixated when learning a new craft, gettting really lost and inspired within it. This past year that has been bookbinding and blockprinting, but I am noticing them being more consistently integrated into my life. I love bookbinding for it's utility and playfulness (the end product being something(s) bound between something else--but what gets bound/cataloged in between or what holds it together, can be so expansive). Here's some snapshots me trying to make meaning of things around me through crafting objects that hold stories and magic and possibility

Really grateful to my loved ones for bringing these crafts to my life

My 2025 agenda pre-cover installation. Eventually desgined the inside to have January in the middle, with the following months flipping back and forth from the inside going out [trying to do my part to break chronological time]. Not sure I will do this set up again though it was kind of hard to find the correct pages when planning any further into the future than the current month you're in---perhaps maybe pointing to a bigger lesson in time and planning...Also, this is the first book I bound for myself and not as a gift

Most recent bookbind with a leather cover :) a really special gift for a family I love dearly. Made into a photo album with plastic photo inserts. Venturing into leather has been really exciting, and making me dream about leather hardcover books and re-fillable journals and many possibilities not yet realized

One of my favorite books I've bound. There are two spines, giving the book two different openings while still all bound as one object. The thoughts, words, drawings etc from both sides of the book can come meet each other in the middle :) Some people call it dos-a-dos binding

Prints made throughout the year. Orange paper print is a screenprint and the rest are blockprints. So many things I love are within these prints. They were made in a time when I really needed them/their reflections back to me. I felt like a printing press the day I took this photo-- making, packaging, writing notes, and mailing around 16 packages. It was a good reminder of how nice it feels to send physical mail.

As much as these crafts have remained pretty consistent so far, new ideas emerge, making one thing balloon into another. The leather venture has been a bit like that for me. I still feel quite tethered by bookbinding but I made this holder for some of my tools. Transorming the familiar itch to hyper fixate on a new craft, into a feeling of contentment with the ways I engage in crafts currently

Thanks for being here :)
